Who I am, and why I'm not really domesticated..

Greetings!

My name is Elly, and I'm a computer nerd.  My mother has teased me my whole life how I would never be domesticated, nurturing, or a stereotypical girl.  When I was a child, I never played with a baby doll unless it did something on it's own.  Remember the Barbie doll that would roller blade and shoot sparks out of her skates?  And how it set things on fire?  I loved that doll.

Flash forward several years to college.  Now I'm on my own, and I can barely cook for myself.  My husband (then boyfriend), would come over on the weekends and make me gourmet meals, and try to leave me with enough left overs to get me through the week.  When I ran out of those, I'd go to Meijer and pick up a "TV Dinner" to survive.

I was thrilled when my husband moved in with me after college.  Home cooked meals every night of the week -- how exciting!  My mom was amazed that I survived all the years before he moved in with me.  Besides having my best friend with me all the time, I now have someone who can cook, clean, mend garments, and possesses other necessary domestic skills that I severely lack. Now all I have to focus on is keeping all of the computers properly running in the house (there's only 5 right now), and the rest is taken care of!

Until one day when my husband suggested I needed a hobby that wasn't so closely related to my job...
