While I haven't finished a project since the Diamond Lace Afghan, I have bought some new toys for my yarn and learned a little bit more about fibers. Also, I see that all my "fiber talk" has confused many of my Facebook friends... so here's some more explanation on my "cryptic" statuses.
For my latest project, the yarn I have is in the form of a hank. Now, in order to use a hank. it must be wound into a ball. With the first hank (and mind you, there are four) I placed the yarn around the back of a chair, and then just used my hands to wind the ball of yarn.
I decided I didn't want to do that a few more times, because it hurts my hands. So I took my hank:
and I placed it on my newly acquired swift and ball winder:
and then I wound away with the winder!
... where I created a "center pull ball"!
Ta da! Understand a little better now?

Nice!! Those things are cool, but i dont usually buy yarn in hanks. Maybe someday when i get a job!! Haha
